So I had a flat last week. Typically, I order a new tire when this happens, because usually it means your tire is getting kind of "tired", and will probably let the air out again soon. (I did figure out what kind of tire I had ordered previously, by the expedient of looking at my order history.)
Sadly, my new tire is in Springfield, according to tracking, and my old tire got another flat this afternoon.
Actually, it probably picked up the little tiny piece of shrapnel quite a bit earlier than that, because the leak was really really slow – just a tiny bubble every second or so, so probably it had lost half its air yesterday and I just didn't notice, and I only noticed when I went out to ride this afternoon that it was very low.
Patched, felt inside the tire, found the shrapnel, removed it, and away I went.
To ride my 1000th mile! In fact, I was on track to end the ride at 998, and so I took a little detour, and ended the ride at 1000.
