My first thought in the past would have been Covid (I hope you're testing) but one of the latest strains seems to cause everything *but* fever. My sister is a pretty isolated person but got RSV in December, so I gather it's quite contagious. The positive test incidence of influenza this summer in the US is about 1%, so the people who are convinced that they have flu and not Covid are generally incorrect.
