Cat Interaction

I speak to my cat periodically.
This just happened:
She walks over to the sunny patch, and meows. I don't realize she is in the sunny patch, and I say the usual inane things like "Hi Kitty". She walks over towards me, and I realize she was coming from the sunny patch, so I say "you don't need to come over here and be petted, you can go lie in the sun." She stops by my chair, I pet her briefly, she turns around, and walks back over to the sunny patch and lies down. Did she really understand me? Probably not. But it sure felt like it.
