The plane flight was uneventful -- everything was on time. About 20% masking.

I wore my N95 except for about 10 minutes when I took it off in order to eat a sandwich and drink the soda they gave me. Trying to lift it up and stick a bite in and pull it down and chew was just too much. One of my seatmates was wearing a mask, so maybe that was okay? Of course the other one was not. And neither were the people ahead of me. Anyway, that's what I did. Then at the Phoenix airport I found a quiet corner and ate another sandwich. The result of this was a little bit too little food and a little bit too little hydration, but that was fine. The split on the way home will be more even, and the layover is longer, so maybe I can just chill and wait for the layover and find a quiet corner. Or maybe Dallas is horribly busy and I will be very sad because there will be 1% masking there.

Mom seems fine, no difference from before. We had a dentist appointment today, which will result in a crown replacement.

When I was here last time, she was inspired by a newspaper article to make a history project of her Dad's life. Years ago she'd written such a history of her mom's side of the family, long before she had her stroke. She started one of her Dad's life, but the fire burned it all. Anyway, she was inspired to try again. It was the day before I was leaving, so nothing happened. I tried to get someone interested via remote-control but that didn't happen. So we're doing it now that I'm here.

She can use the computer if somebody sets it up in the word processor, but she needs pretty much constant supervision, because when things go wrong she doesn't really notice. So she gets in caps lock or the printer dialog. So she can't do this project alone.

She's done quite a lot yesterday and today, and if we work on it for two hours a day, we may finish. After she's worked for a while, I go through it and fix all the typos. She's become pretty much hunt and peck. Kind of sad because of having been a 90 word a minute typist before. But she doesn't seem to be horribly frustrated at the pace.

So I don't know, if we don't finish, what to do other than finish it next time I'm here, because I don't think there's anybody who is interested in supervising as closely as is required. You can read your book and just look up periodically, but you need to look at least once a minute. So it won't work for staff here, because they can't do that.

My stepfather keeps saying "let's go out to lunch"; I keep saying "no". There is a place that does have outdoor seating, and tomorrow will only be 95 rather than 105, so I think we will go there.

I think I'm the only person who wears a mask in any store here.

Last night I had a dream that I had monkeypox all over the back of my hand. When I woke up, I had to turn on the light to make sure it wasn't true.
