eclipse planning
May. 18th, 2023 07:36 pmWell, we're not going to Mazatlan after all.
Plane flights were nearly impossible, because not very many planes fly there; a lot of airlines just have one or two flights a week, so actually getting there was going to take 2 days (at least we were going to have the long layover be overnight so we could stay in a hotel, so we didn't have to sleep in the plane), and return had the same problem, or else cost $2000 each. So we are going to Texas, where we can have a nonstop to Dallas.
Not happy about giving my money to Texas, but is giving my money to drug cartels really that much better? We will be staying in Glen Rose, which is home to a dinosaur park, so at least there will be something interesting to do even if the eclipse is a wash due to the 40% chance of clouds.
