stepfather musings
Jan. 27th, 2025 07:50 pmI'm investigating the idea of trying to get contact with my stepfather. It turns out there is a law in California where you can get an "anti-isolation restraining order" which will allow a person to force visitation, assuming the court agrees. I just had a nice conversation with somebody in Butte County about how this would work. In theory I wouldn't need a lawyer but because I'm far away I probably really do. I haven't actually decided to do it yet, but I read over the form.
Obviously my stepsister would be livid. I only care to the extent that her anger would be bad for my stepfather to be around.
I hope that when they schedule a hearing, they would give me enough notice to get a plane flight.
