Boat repower: happening!

nosrednaydujI called boat places about repowering, and one of them actually had the motor that we were thinking might be best based on online research. For somewhat less money than we had been quoted in the spring (though still substantial). So we are going for it!
We hauled the boat this evening so I can drive it to the boat place tomorrow. This had an unexpected entertainment, because it turns out to be Rosh Hashanah, and apparently there is a ritual of reading prayer books down by the water at sunset. The boat launch ramp was jammed with Jewish people in their finery. Why they weren't on the nearby, larger, beach, I don't know, unless they didn't want to get sand in their fancy shoes. Anyway, it took them a while to figure out that maybe they should get out of the way of the boat and the car.
