My family watches a lot of TV

I turned off the football game when I got here -- my mom was off with Occupational Therapy, and my stepfather took the opportunity to go find non-turkey-leftovers for lunch. Me, I arrived at the rehab, chinese takeout in hand.
My stepsister has the TV on 24/7, and I'm not kidding, she sleeps with the TV in her room on low, she says it's because she grew up in a chaotic household with my stepbrothers and she gets freaked out when she's alone in the house. So, of course, when I'm there, the TV is a huge attention-grabber, and it grabs mine. So I watched the last 2/3 of Kong: Skull Island (it was pretty much exactly as I expected it would be from the trailers I saw a year ago), and two episodes of Star Trek. Strangely, I hadn't remembered the TOS episode, and I'm sure I've watched all of those a dozen times each. It was less surprising that I hadn't seen the TNG episode as I've only seen about a third of those. My mom is a fan of Jeopardy, so we watched that from the rehab place.
Mom was kind of dopey this morning, don't know why. Then after lunch she perked up, and she and I played Scrabble for an hour. Her brain ran out of gas about 3/4 of the way through the game, so we quit, but at the time she was winning! Yesterday I played Gin Rummy with her. One of the nurses was thrilled we were doing "brain exercise". I need to get some of my TV-watching crowd to do something else with her, once I leave.
Which I am doing tomorrow! I bought tickets yesterday, for an excellent itinerary at a non-ruinous price, which kind of surprised me, the Monday after Thanksgiving. I was expecting to have to come home on Tuesday. Maybe I should have stayed another day, but really, she's progressing slowly and there's not much I can really contribute, and I kind of miss my family and my cat, and my job kind of misses me. I have been getting some stuff done from here, but not a lot.
