More busy weekend
Jun. 13th, 2021 11:07 pmSo it was also a very exerciseful weekend. Before we heard about the new boat, on Saturday morning, I tried again to ski behind the neighbor's boat, and this time I was able to get up, probably due to not having a wetsuit, and having lighter weight people as crew on the boat. It still was quite a struggle, and took a very long time before I was planing well enough to ski. So, I'm really hoping this new boat will do the trick, because even if the neighbor were willing to share his boat, it's not a very good ski boat.
Then, after we picked up the boat this morning, we went to a birthday party picnic, this time for our friend Peg, and, turns out Ken also has the same birthday! I brought cupcakes that I had baked way too late last night after Valerie's birthday dinner and ATM run around, and afterwards I rode my bicycle home. The picnic was in Prospect Hill Park, which is right next to my workplace (assuming I ever get to go back there), so I got to take my usual route back home.
Dorking around in the neighboring town with no hills for 25 miles two weeks ago, and then only riding 8-12 miles on a normal day is not preparation for a 25 mile ride with moderate hills. I had quite terrible performance. 24.33 miles in 2:36 for an average of 9.3. Think this is not actually personal worst, but it's dang close.
