Useless cat, reprised

nosrednaydujSo I earlier wrote about my useless cat in regards to mice. Since then, we got a have a heart trapped that actually worked and trapped the mouse, and meanwhile, the cat actually caught a mouse also, which surprised us to no end.
However, there are more mice, or they were busy beforehand, because I recently opened a drawer that we don't open very often because it has some lesser used items, and in it I found: mouse poop, and a handful of cat food. So, the mice have been getting the food out of the bowl, going down under the refrigerator, or something, and through the flooring/walls, coming up in another room through the plumbing to a sink, making their way into the cabinetry, and having a good old stash. Quite a lot of work for a little mouse.
Much cleaning ensued. We had this happen years ago with a different set of cabinets, and we were able to block off the space between the corresponding sink and those cabinets. I think we'll have to do that here too.
This cat can't even defend her food bowl!
